Family pay tribute to crash victim

The family of a Guisborough man who died in a car crash on Teesside have paid tribute to him.

Jordan Dowson, 19, was killed in a three vehicle collision the A174 near Brotton on February 7. His family have released the following statement:

“A dearly loved son, stepson, grandson,brother, nephew, cousin and great grandson.

“He was a massive Chelsea fan and played for two local teams. As well as football, he idolised his dogs.

“He was always with a smile on his face, probably best remembered by his laugh.”

A car passenger who died after being involved in a three vehicle collision near Brotton has been named as Jordan Dowson.

The 19-year-old, from Guisborough, died when three cars collided on the A174 Brotton Bypass at 5pm on February 7.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.

Man arrested after fatal crash on A174

Police investigating a fatal crash on the A174 Brotton Bypass have arrested a19-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. The incident happened at 5pm on Friday 7 February.

Three cars were involved in the collision: a black Vauxhall Corsa, a grey Audi estate and a white Volkswagen Scirocco.

One of the passengers in the Corsa, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the same car, an 18-year-old woman, was taken to hospital, where she is in a stable condition.
