A mother and son believed to have been killed in their home have been laid to rest after a funeral service in North Tyneside.
Family and friends turned out to pay their respects to Ray Patterson, who was 61, and his 82-year-old mother Clara at St Bartholomew's Church in Forest Hall today.
They were killed at their home in Benton on 11 February. Glen Patterson, their son and grandson, has been charged with their murder.

A man has appeared in court accused of murdering his father and his grandmother. Glenn Patterson, 25, appeared at North Tyneside Magistrates Court after being charged with the murder of Clara Patterson, 82, and Ray Patterson, 61.
Glen Patterson of Front Street, Benton, North Tyneside, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Newcastle Crown Court later this month.

A 25-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with the murders of his father and grandmother at their home on North Tyneside.
The bodies of the Clara Patterson, 82, and Ray Patterson, 61, were discovered at the house on Front Street in Benton on Tuesday evening.
Glen Patterson, of Front Street, Benton, has been charged with two counts of murder, and remanded in custody.

Neighbours have spoken of their shock after two bodies were found in a house in North Tyneside.
Glen Patterson, 25, has been charged with the murders of his father, Ray, 61, and grandmother Clara, 82.
He was arrested last night after their bodies were found in their home on Front Street, Benton.
