Post Office worker tied up in Gosforth robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a post office worker was tied up during a robbery in Gosforth on February 21.

Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a robbery at a Post Office on Tyneside. Officers were called to a branch in the Gosforth area of Newcastle at just before 9am on Friday after reports a man had stolen cash and tied up a female member of staff.

The man is described as being white, more than six feet tall, medium build and wearing a blue or purple hooded top. He was seen in Gosforth Central Park, close to the scene of the robbery near the High Street, at around 8am.

Police in Newcastle are appealing for information after a woman was left tied up after a robbery in a Post Office.

The alarm at the Post Office in the Gosforth Centre, High Street, at 8.47 am this morning (Friday, February 21).

When officers they arrived they found that the shop had been robbed and that a female member of staff had been tied up.

She was left shaken by the incident and with minor injuries.
