Unemployment in the North East fell by 8,000 in the three months to January, official figures have revealed. Despite the fall, the region still has the highest unemployment rate.
The Office for National Statistics showed 125,000 people were unemployed in the region between November and January. The region's unemployment rate was 9.5% and saw a fall of 6% during the period.

Ahead of the Chancellor's Budget, people from all over the North East have been telling ITV News Tyne Tees how the government could help.
Jon Connolly from Sunderland wants to see more help for jobseekers. He worked as a site manager but was made redundant in January.
