Police have released a picture of the victim of a train crash yesterday in North Yorkshire.
Eric Ireland, who was 77, died after his car was struck by a train on a level crossing near Rillington.
British Transport Police say they are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
A pensioner who died after the car he was in was hit by a train on a level crossing in North Yorkshire is expected to be named today. The crash happened at the Ivy Lea level crossing at Rillington near Malton yesterday morning.
Investigation work to establish how the car came to be on the crossing as the train approached will also continue.
Trains are unable to run between #Malton and Scarborough until approximately 20:00. This means that buses will run between these stations.
The British Transport Police has named a man who died when his car was hit by a train on a level crossing on May 7. Eric Ireland, 77, from Moorsholme in Scampston, died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers.
