Woman's death in house fire treated as suspicious

Police investigating the death of a woman in a house fire in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, are treating it as suspicious. Theresa Ryan, 50, died in the fire on Wednesday 9th July.

Murder enquiry in Ormesby death

The death of a Middlesbrough woman who was killed in a house fire is being treated as a murder enquiry.

Teresa Ryan died during the fire at her home on Warton Street in North Ormesby on July 9. A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and burglary, while a 28-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary. Both are currently in police custody.

A woman has died in a fire at a house in Middlesbrough.

The emergency services were called to the property on Warton Street, in the North Ormesby area, at just before midnight.

The woman was pulled from the blaze, which was on the ground floor, but pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is now underway to discover the cause.
