Detectives have charged a 40-year-old man from Harrogate with the murder of Mark Leslie John Berney, aged 44, from Knaresborough.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed he was charged just after midnight on August 6. It relates to an incident at Ripley, Harrogate, at around 9.30pm on August 3.
A man who died from stab wounds on Sunday 3 August has been named by police as Mark Leslie John Berney, 44-years-old, from Knaresborough.
Officers re-opened the B6165 at Whipley Bank on Monday 4 August. The section of road had been cordoned off while searches were carried out at the scene.
The suspect - who is aged 40 and from Harrogate - remains in police custody for questioning while enquiries continue.
Detective Superintendent Dai Malyn, Head of the Major Crime Unit, said: “At this time we are not looking for another person or anticipate further arrests in connection with the case.”
