Collabro head to Newcastle for album signing

Britain’s Got Talent winning musical theatre group Collabro will head to Newcastle this afternoon to sign copies of their first album ‘Stars’. The album also includes covers of John Legend’s ‘All of Me’, ‘Let it Go’ from Frozen and title track ‘Stars’ of Les Miserables.

It will be particularly important for Jamie Lambert who is from Washington. Today, he'll sign copies of the album at HMV in Gateshead. The singers only together for a month prior to their BGT audition.

Collabro star's mother fell down stairs after his BGT win

The mother of one of the members of Collabro, who won Britain's Got Talent, said she was jumping up and down so much when the group's victory was announced that she fell down the stairs.

Lorraine Lambert, whose son Jamie is one fifth of the classical group, said she wasn't injured by the fall but is now "black and blue".

A South Tyneside man has succeeded in winning this year's Britain's Got Talent contest as part of the musical theatre group Collabro.

Jamie Lambert, 23, is from Washington and joined the group when it was formed just a month before auditions for the show.

Speaking on stage after the win was announced, Lambert offered his thanks and praised the runner up, opera singer Lucy Kay, saying: "For everyone who voted, you're absolutely amazing.

"Judges, thank you so much. And to Lucy as well, she's absolutely incredible.”

The group pick up a £250,000 prize and a slot performing at the Royal Variety Performance in London.
