The family of a woman who was killed in a three-vehicle crash in County Durham have revealed she was pregnant.
Alison Raey, 39, from Stanley was a passenger on a motorcycle that collided with a milk tanker and a van on the A688 near Bowburn on Thursday evening. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her family have confirmed she was expecting their fourth child at the time of the incident, and say the couple had already decided to name their unborn baby 'Thomas'.
Mrs Raey's 51-year-old husband, David, and the tanker driver, were both arrested on suspicion of death by careless driving and released on bail.

Tributes have been paid to a student killed in a car crash while on a dream holiday. Pippa Darlington, who studied law at Newcastle University, died alongside her sister Tara. They were travelling around Morocco before returning for their final year of study.

A police officer has been taken hospital after crashing a patrol car into a house in Horden. The officer received neck injuries which are not thought to be serious. It happened on Eleventh Street at 2.20pm while he was responding to a report of a shop robbery. Minor damage was caused to the house.
