A Tyneside charity which provides free transport to and from hospital for child cancer patients has launched a 'River Tyne Trail'.
The Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care Walk is a 135 mile journey from the sources of the Tyne to the sea at Tynemouth. It is divided up into twelve stages to attract day walkers - though the whole trail would take around 12 days. The walk is dedicated to all those affected by cancer.
A charity which transports cancer patients to and from hospital has opened an information desk at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.
Daft as a Brush is run by volunteers at the Northern Centre for Cancer Care.
