Over 2,200 pupils from schools across Gateshead are taking to the stage for a two day celebration of dance.
Hits ranging from the cheesy to the timeless were performed at Gateshead Schools Dance Festival, staged at Sage Gateshead.
In total over 72 schools and community groups took part. Children as young as five and six took part alongside accomplished dancers from secondary schools across the borough.
This is the 6th time that the Gateshead Schools Dance Festival has been held at Sage Gateshead and the first time that it has been extended to cover two full days, March18 and 19.
Hundreds of children and adults from the north of England are dancing in the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association.
They're strutting their stuff at Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-le-Spring.
The competition features different styles of dancing from Classic Sequence to Latin American.
