Police have named a man who died after a crash on the A1 near Felton yesterday (November 12th) as Nigel Sowerby.
The 37-year-old from Cleckheaton in West Yorkshire was involved in a collision involving three vehicles on the A1 near Felton shortly before eight o'clock in the morning on November 12th.
He was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance, but subsequently died of his injuries.
A 49-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have any information, to contact them on 101.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision where a man died - a BMW, a VW van and a Citroen car.
The driver of the VW van was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle by air ambulance, but subsequently died of his injuries.
A passenger in the VW van was taken to Wansbeck Hospital, where it is believed he is not suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the BMW also suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the Citroen was unhurt.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
