Cost of fuel could be stopping people learning to drive

As negotiations continue between tanker drivers and their bosses over working conditions, a new report by the AA claims some families are spending more on fuel than feeding their family.

The ongoing arguments between the two groups has lead to a rise in fuel prices. The motoring group said prices at the pump hit a new high of 142.48p per litre this week, while diesel remains near its peak of 147.88p per litre.

One industry being hit hard by the soaring fuel prices is driving instructors.

Gary Greenup runs Independence Driving School, he says the cost of driving is putting people off learning.
