£1.5m investment at Gibside

The National Trust is to invest one and a half million pounds improving facilities at the Gibside estate near Rowlands Gill in Gateshead.
The announcement comes just weeks after the Trust pledged an investment of £650,000 at Housesteads Roman Fort.
Visitor numbers at Gibside have increased from 60,000 to 166,000 in the past ten years.

The National Trust is enjoying bumper visitor numbers in the region. Gibside near Gateshead has had a busy bank holiday so far.
It's one of several places that have seen an average 12% more people through its gates between March 2011 and February 2012.
