Joe will be awarded the Silver Heart award at an award ceremony tonight.
The Silver Heart award is the charity's highest honour.
X Factor winner, and South Shields star, Joe McElderry will pick up a Variety Silver Award in Newcastle tonight at a special dinner that is being held in his honour.
'A Tribute to Joe McElderry' will be a celebration of Joe's life and career so far, where he will be presented with the Variety Silver Heart award.
Money raised on the evening will go towards the children's charity 'Variety'.
