Hundreds of mourners gathered today (January 24) for the funeral of an amateur boxer who died after a New Years Eve party.
Thirty one year old Mark Denton died in hospital after suffering serious injuries at a house party in Hartlepool.

Mark Denton was attacked on New Year's Eve.
The service is being held at The Borough Hall in Hartlepool, where some of his matches took place.

Police were called to a property in Hutton Avenue at around 10.20pm. The 31 year old man, named locally as Mark Denton, was taken to hospital, but pronounced dead.
A 17 year old is under arrest.
