Full Report: Man found guilty of neighbour's murder

A 24-year-old man is starting life behind bars for the murder of his 61-year-old neighbour on Teesside.

Robert Baker beat John Coates to death in the 61-year old's flat in Middlesbrough before stealing electrical goods, which he then tried to sell to his friends for less than a hundred pounds.

Robert Baker has been found guilty of the murder of John Coates.

Baker was charged with the murder of Mr Coates, after he was found dead in the block of flats where they both lived, in September last year.

The 24-year-old was accused of bludgeoning the shop worker to death. He was found naked in his bath tub at his flat on Cargo Fleet Lane in Middlesbrough.
