Thousands of tonnes of dirt are being tipped into Newcastle Arena ready for motorbikes to race on on Sunday.
The dirt has to be a special mix of soil and concrete to make it the right consistency.
Northumbria Police say no action will be taken against the rider of a motorbike which collided with a pushchair, injuring a toddler. It happened in Sunderland in February. The 18 month old girl was left in a critical condition. She has since been released from hospital.
A motorcyclist died on the A68.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the rider, who's in his 40s, fell off his green Kawasaki motor bike.
The man, who is yet to be named, was riding on the A68 from West Auckland towards High Everly.
He had tried to overtake two cars at around 5.10pm yesterday near to a junction and collided with the off side of one of the cars.He was confirmed dead at the scene.
