The number of young people who are homeless in the the North East has risen by almost a fifth in the past 12 months.
The charity Nightstop - which helps them - is now calling for more volunteers to come forward. All you need, they say, is a spare room and a kind heart.

The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has awarded Nightstop North East a prestigious Big Society Award.
The project provides safe emergency accommodation for homeless young people aged 16-25.
Volunteers provide a safe place to sleep, washing facilities and breakfast for up to 14 nights.
The team of 31 volunteers across Tyne & Wear and County Durham, has now expanded to include Teesside as well as Northumberland and County Durham.
