After a mild few days cold weather is set to return.
Next weekend could see a similar set up that brought snow and ice to the region.
The so-called 'Beast from the East' is heading back this way.
It could mean temperatures will struggle to get to 3C by Saturday.

A major search operation is ongoing in Northumberland, after a car was found in a river.
Northumbria Police says it received a report at around 12.20pm today that the vehicle had been found by a member of the public near Shillmoor, Alwinton.
The force says emergency services are conducting an extensive search of the river and surrounding areas, to locate the driver of the vehicle, believed to be a Northumberland man.
Fire and mountain rescue teams have also been on the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact 101.
Northumbria Police say they are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a man on a DFDS ferry travelling between Amsterdam and North Shields.
The passenger, Terrence Murphy, aged 67, from Melbourne, Australia, was travelling on board the ferry but did not depart the vessel upon arrival in North Shields.
The force says enquiries are ongoing to trace Terrence and establish the circumstances around his disappearance.
Offices are concerned for his welfare and are carrying out enquiries to locate him and are asking for the public’s help.
He is described as being white, 5ft 7in, medium build and with medium length grey hair.
His next of kin have been contacted and police are now asking Terrence, or anyone with any information, to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting log 413 08/03/18.
The body of a man has been found in North Tyneside.
Police were called to the Lauderdale Avenue in Wallsend at about 10.40am on Friday morning after the body of a man was found.
Emergency services attended and the man was declared dead.
It is currently being investigated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and contact his next of kin.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
