Karanka wants Boro to maintain early season form

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka wants to see his side to continue their impressive start to the season this weekend.

Boro are second in the Championship table after three consecutive league wins. They now face Nottingham Forest away in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

Karanka confident for Nottingham Forest clash

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka says his side are feeling confident ahead of this weekend's trip to Nottingham Forest.

The Championship leaders beat Forest 3-0 at the Riverside on Boxing Day with goals from George Friend, Jelle Vossen and Grant Leadbitter.

Karanka expects a tough match against an in-form Forest but he believes December's result will give his team added confidence.

Darlow 'delighted' to join Newcastle

Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow is delighted with his move to St James' Park from Nottingham Forest.

The 23-year-old said:

I'm delighted for it all to be sorted and I can't wait to get started here at Newcastle.

The loan back is going to be another year but it gives me time to develop my game further before I return.

I'm looking forward to the future.

Lascelles 'over the moon' after Newcastle move

Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles has expressed his delight after joining the club from Nottingham Forest.

The 20-year-old said:

As soon as I found out about the move I was over the moon.

It's a huge step up for me. Newcastle are a club with a massive fanbase, a big history and an unbelievable stadium.

First, I am going back to Forest for another season and that will be great for my development. Hopefully I can come here next summer an even better player.

Pardew says signings are 'a real coup' for Newcastle

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew says the signings of Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest are 'a real coup' for the club.

He said:

It is a real coup to have signed two of the finest young talents in English football outside of the Premier League.

Jamaal and Karl will be a big part of the future of this club. They have both performed outstandingly in the Championship over the last couple of years and I have no doubt they will be able step up to this level once they return from their loan at Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle complete deal for Forest duo

Newcastle United have completed a deal to sign Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow from Nottingham Forest for an undisclosed

The duo have agreed long-term deals at St James' Park and will return to Forest on loan for the 2014/15 season.

Both players came through the youth system at the City Ground. Lascelles, 20, established himself in the Forest defence last season, making 34 appearances for the club. While Darlow, 23, has been Forest's first-choice goalkeeper since January 2013.
