The duo have agreed long-term deals at St James' Park and will return to Forest on loan for the 2014/15 season.
Both players came through the youth system at the City Ground. Lascelles, 20, established himself in the Forest defence last season, making 34 appearances for the club. While Darlow, 23, has been Forest's first-choice goalkeeper since January 2013.
Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka believes Championship rivals Nottingham Forest are "not in a good moment".

Sunderland has announced that midfielder David Vaughan has joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
The 30-year-old has moved to the Championship side until the January 29, 2014.
Sunderland boss Gus Poyet said the loan move will allow Vaughan to get more playing time.
Middlesbrough have been denied what would have been a seventh win in a row.
