Appeal for witnesses after fatal crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died in a road crash.

The three car collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A66 between Darlington and Stockton at around 10.30pm on Wednesday 2 May.

A 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash near the Bishopton Junction that involved a broze Honda Civic, red Renault Clio and black Citroen Picasso.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency 101 number.

Man critical after attack in Sunderland

A man is in intensive care after he was assaulted outside a nightclub in Sunderland.

The attack happened on Vine Place near Ttonic nightclub at around 2am on Thursday 12th April.

The man, 48, was taken to hospital with a head injury and is currently in a critical condition at the RVI, Newcastle, following surgery.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, and is currently being interviewed by police.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.


Police appeal over Stockton attack

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a girl was seriously injured in Stockton.

The girl, 10, was reported missing from her home on Saturday 7th April at 6.30pm. She was found just over two hours later on Maritime Way in Stockton.

The girl was taken to hospital - where she remained for six days - and treated for serious injuries. A boy, 16, has been charged with assault.

Police are in the area looking for information and have appealed for people to come forward who may have seen the girl or witnessed the incident.

The girl is described as being around 4ft tall with brown hair and wearing black leggings, a chequered top, a brown furry body warmer and a light tan leather style jacket.

The family of a man who hasn't been seen since May last year are asking for information from the public to help find him.

27-year-old Scott Fletcher was last seen on May 11th at around 8.20pm in the lay-by oppositeat Jet garage on the A181 at Wheatley Hill in Durham.
