Pioneering robotic technology is being trialled at Newcastle General Hospital. The treatment, for people who have had a stroke, helps them get their affected arm moving and can sense the level of mobility they have.
Paula Coates has spent the past two decades caring for her friend, Ann Gibson, whose life was changed for ever by a serious stroke.
Paula gave up her job and even moved house so Ann could live with her.
Now, Paula has won a carers' award from the charity, the Stroke Association.
