Two men have entered a house and threatened the people with a handgun and hammer. The men, dressed in high vis jackets and hooded tops, went in through an unlocked door at the house in Sunniside, Gateshead, at 6.30pm yesterday.
They threatened the occupants and assaulted one of them, demanding money. The man was taken to hospital but wasn't seriously injured. The robbers stole cash and personal items, one was carrying what was believed to be a handgun, the other was armed with a hammer.
