If you thought Thanksgiving was just an American thing, you're wrong: a church in Hexham has been celebrating the festival as well.
The wife of the vicar of Trinity Methodist Church is American, as are some of the congregation, so today a special service was held. They sang hymns, read out President Barack Obama's Thanksgiving proclamation - and there was was even pumpkin pie.

A service of thanksgiving will take at Durham Cathedral at 11.00 am on Saturday in honour of Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The Deputy Lieutenants and Honorary Deputy Lieutenants will parade into the Cathedral.
