Police are appealing for witnesses after a group of youths threw bricks at a train as it left Seaham Station.
The incidented happened on Saturday June 23rd at the level crossing just outside the station as the 2.18pm train set off for Hexham.
British Transport Police say a group of youths threw objects at the train from a wooded area close to the station.
The driver's front cabin window cracked which meant the train had to be taken out of service when it reached Newcastle.
