Rare Roman writing tablets have discovered at Vindolanda in Northumberland
An astonishing number of Roman shoes have been found by archaeologists at a site on Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has given support to a project aimed at putting on display hundreds of everyday wooden items uncovered near Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland.
Artefacts found at Vindolanda include one of the earliest known toilet seats.
