Rail passengers are facing delays of up to one hour on Virgin Trains East Coast.
The delays are on the Northbound track between Durham and Newcastle.
It is due to overhead line problems.
There's disruption on our regions railways with a number of trains cancelled. It's after a derailment at Edinburgh Waverley within the depot.
As a result Virgin East Coast Trains are unable to run a full service with problems on routes from Newcastle to London Kings Cross.
Virgin East Coast is reassuring customers that if their train has been cancelled they will be able to use their ticket on the train immediately before or after the one they had originally booked on.
The disruption is expected to continue until around 3 o'clock this afternoon with passengers advised to check before they travel.
