Once the site is complete, it will provide enough power for forty thousand homes. EDF Energy Renewables is hoping that the project will be finished in the Spring. The firm describes the development as 'symbolic' and says it may help to shape its future plans for windfarms in the UK.
Ten days after more than a hundred Conservative backbenchers wrote a letter to the Prime Minister about wind farm applications, the opposition has spread to Liberal Democrat ranks.
Redcar MP, Ian Swales , used PMQs to highlight a local campaign fighting against a proposed wind farm between new Marske and Upleatham. David Cameron said the government was reducing subsidies for onshore developments. He added that the new Localism Bill will also give communities more say.
