Police investigating the death of a man in Darlington believe he was in his forties and was staying in a nearby hotel. His body was found on a playing field on Salter's Lane by a passer by. Officers are treating his death as unexplained.
They say he has connections with the Darlington and Hampshire areas and was staying at the Harrowgate Hill Lodge in the town, where he paid his bill yesterday but failed to return as expected last night. They are asking for help to identify him. The investigation continues.
