Paedophile admits attacks

A paedophile from Cumbria snatched four little girls from Newcastle and Hampshire in the 1980s and 1990s, a court has heard.

Grandfather David Bryant sexually abused them before dumping them.

A DNA link led detectives to Bryant, 65, who first struck 30 years ago.

Today he was due to be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court for four separate attacks.

Bryant previously admitted four counts of kidnap and four counts of sexual assault.

Sentencing has been adjourned while psychiatric reports are prepared.

Judge James Goss said he hopes to pass sentence in a week.
