A man has been rescued at a beach in Northumberland after the hole he was digging fell in on him.
The Great North Air Ambulance and emergency services were called to Druridge beach at around 4pm on Sunday after the man, who is in his twenties, became trapped.
It took police, paramedics and two diggers to free him.
A man has thanked emergency rescuers for pulling him alive from a sand dune. Ronnie Martin was buried by sand while digging a hole.
