An 18-month-old boy suffered head injuries and a broken leg after falling from a first floor window.
A spokeswoman for the North East ambulance service said they were called to an address in Oak Street, Seaton Burn, in North Tyneside at around 11.20 yesterday.
It is believed the infant is still being treated in hospital.
