Two men have been arrested after two reports of distraction burglaries in South Tyneside.
Two men knocked on the door of a house at Simonside View in Jarrow and asked to search for a ball that they said they'd lost in the garden.
The incident took place on June 19, one man stayed in the house while the other was outside. The couple living in the house later found cash had been stolen.
The next day the same took place except only one man knocked on the door, again it was an address on Simonside View.
Two 35-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of burglary. One has been bailed, the other remains in custody.
