A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a car crash in County Durham.
The incident happened at around 01:45 this morning on the B1283 between Sherburn and Gilesgate, close to the junction with the A181.
The emergency services attended the scene including the police helicopter and a man was released from a silver Ford Focus.
He was taken to the James Cook University hospital with serious injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
