Nick Brown asks for council compensation to mop up floods
Nick Brown, MP for Newcastle upon Tyne East, raised the issue of compensation for councils who are paying for damage caused by flash floods last week.
Communities and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles said the Government would look "sympathetically" on any applications they receive.
