The artist who created the Angel of the North and the founders of the Baltic will be made honorary Freemen of Gateshead today.
Sculptor Antony Gormley OBE, and Sune Nordgren and Alan Smith were nominated for their services to arts. The trio will receive their awards at a special ceremony at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art this afternoon.
