An 11-year-old boy who was hit by a car while riding his bike in Easington Lane, near Houghton, remains in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.
A 49-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The incident happened on Monday August 6.
