Two men have been remanded in custody, after making their first court appearance, charged with the murder of Durham businesswoman Carole Waugh.
40 year old Rakesh Bhayani and 47 year old Nicholas Kutner are already charged with fraud offences linked to her disappearance.
The two men appeared by video-link at Croydon Magistrates' Court, and spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth.
Ms Waugh's body was found with a single stab wound inside a car in a lock-up in south west London, on August 2.
She lived in London but was originally from Durham, where her family had last seen her in mid-April.
Unemployed Bhayani, of Chamberlayne Avenue in Wembley, already faces three fraud charges connected to the case.
Kutner, of no fixed address, was originally arrested on suspicion of murder and kidnap on August 1.
He also faces fraud charges, and is accused of pretending to be Chris Waugh, Miss Waugh's brother, to try to sell her London flat.
The pair, who were appearing via video-link from Wandsworth Prison, were remanded in custody until a further hearing at the Old Bailey on November 22.
