UNISON members strike over expenses

Staff at the Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust in the Community and Business Unit will be striking for a fourth day. A lobby by UNISON members will take place at Foundry House in Bedlington.

The strike, which is mainly by Occupational Therapists, Community Workers, Social Workers and Health Visitors, is over the trust's decision to cut the travel expenses from 47p to 24p a mile.

However, the trust says that if staff want to stay on the 47p rate, they can by leasing a car through a scheme run by the them.
