Torchbearer runs in memory of his Granddaughter
For George Nicholson, from County Durham, the Great North Run was particularly special, he was running in memory of his granddaughter Emily, who died as a toddler.
George fundraises for Acorn, the hospice that supported his family through their loss. Because of his fundraising efforts, George was nominated to be a torchbearer, something he could not leave behind for this half marathon.
