Police are appealing for information after four masked men threatened a couple with a knife, in front of their children.
The men entered a house in Redworth, near Newton Aycliffe, on September 24. A 50-year-old father was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with facial injuries. Two young children witnessed some of the attack. The men took money from the house.
“I must reassure the public that this sort of crime is very rare and we don’t believe this to be a random attack. It left the entire family very badly shaken and we are keen to speak with anyone who may have any information about this.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
