Disabled children "left out of PE"

A number of coaches and pupils in the North East have said some disabled children are being left out of PE and excluded from sports events, because there are teachers who think it is too much trouble to include them.

"There is still work to be done to help disabled children in sport"

A number of coaches and pupils have spoken of shocking examples of mainstream schools in the North East failing children, because they have a disability.

Dave Johnson, the Olympic Legacy Development Officer at Newcastle Council, watched our report and said there was still work to do.
