Seaton Delaval burglaries

Police are appealing for information after three burglaries and an attempted burglary in Seaton Delaval last month.

Between August 23 and 24, cash was taken from a house in Elsdon Avenue.

Between September 7 and 8, a house in Tranwell Drive was broken into. Thieves took cash, mobile phones and jewellery. On September 27, burglars tried to break into a house in Mindrum Way. At 7am on October 5, police were told burglars broke into a house in Hallington Drive overnight.

"I'd ask that people make sure their doors are locked before they go to bed and that windows or patio doors are not left open - we need people to make sure their property is as secure as it can be overnight.

"If anyone hears anything suspicious on a night - such as glass smashing, bangs or anything suspicious - they should report it to police straight away. Their call could be the difference in preventing a crime from happening."
