Police warn Stockton residence of road closures ahead of Royal visit

Police are preparing for the arrival of the The Duchess of Cambridge at the CRI Stockton Recovery Service on Williams Street.

As part of the preparations officials are advising people who live and work in the area to expect the following road closures:

  • Dovecote Street closed from the junction with Prince Regent Street alongside the ARC to the junction with Brunswick Street.
  • Albion Street closed at the junction with Brunswick Street.
  • Lodge Street closed at the junction of Brunswick Street and Prince Regent Street.

Police are also expecting a large number of spectators on Wednesday afternoon.

They have advised people to get there early and for drivers to avoid this area, if possible.

"Our role is to ensure the safety of the crowd and manage the security surrounding the visit.

There will be a significant police presence and people attending are asked to follow the instructions of police officers and stay within the allocated area for their own safety."
