The Duchess of Cambridge is due to carry out a string of solo engagements in Newcastle without the Duke.
During the Duchess' visit to Newcastle she will chat to school children and and meet youngsters whose substance-abusing parents have benefited from the work of one of her charities.
In the civic centre she will chat to those who helped to make the Olympic Games a success to volunteers who made the city centre a more welcoming place for people and businesses.
The Duchess will visit Elswick Park to learn about its involvement with the Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge.
Kate will travel to Stockton-on-Tees where the charity Action on Addiction, which has the Duchess as its patron, is working with a local partner organisation to help families where a parent is an addict.
