Nobel Prize winner to unveil new Durham building
Sir Paul Nurse, a Nobel Prize winner and President of the Royal Society, will open a new building at Durham University today as part of its £100 million redevelopment.
The Palatine Centre has been designed to bring Durham's student services and headquarters together under one roof.
The centre includes the extended Bill Bryson Library and the new Durham Law School.
Art on display inside the Palatine Centre will showcase some of the best of the University collection. Public artworks on the surrounding Lower Mountjoy site include Cry for Justice – The Scream, a bronze sculpture by Durham City artist Fenwick Lawson.
