Sunderland captain Lee Cattermole has signed a new four-year deal with the club
The 24-year-old began his career at Middlesbrough, and made 91 appearances for Boro. He was sold to Wigan in 2008, and then returned to the North East just over a year later when he joined Sunderland in 2009.
The new contract is expected to keep Cattermole at the Stadium of Light until 2016.
