North East economy discussed in Westminster
South Shields MP, David Miliband says the region's economy should be regarded as a national asset rather than a problem during a debate in the House of Commons.
Mr Miliband went on to heavily criticise the failure of the coalition government to invest in local transport and energy projects but the record of the last Labour government also came under attack with the Redcar MP accusing it of abandoning Teesside.
