Fines for racism in football should go to anti-racism campaigns

Money raised through fining players for racist abuse should be given to anti-racism campaign work says charity, Show Racism the Red Card.

The charity has launched a campaign asking for fines ordered by the Football Association (FA), to be split 50-50 between Show Racism the Red Card and Kick It Out.

The charity says recent FA fines to players in racism cases have amounted to £310,000, which it says is far higher than the grants it currently receives.

The charity receives £1,500 from the FA and £25,000 from the Premier League/ PFA Community Fund.
